Have used this app non stop the last few weeks to get out and about cycling. So easy to use - best app there is for finding cycle paths or smaller safer roads. Really like planning routes too and being able to save them and use whenever. Not sure what the issue is with making an account, I find it useful to see the rides I’ve done and the rides I plan to do. I’m only using the free version too so for all the information I get FOR FREE it’s fantastic. Couldn’t ask for more for a cycling navigation app, and, if you do want to ask for more the developers seem more than happy to engage in discussion. Thank you.

For the most part, Bikemap is a very good app. It can be used while the app is closed, does not use a huge amount of battery and I am currently using it as evidence for my Duke of Edinburg physical section. HOWEVER, there is one major issue about this app that needs to be addressed. I have been doing my bike routes weekly and saving them to the app, as I was planning to upload the evidence to the DofE website at the end of my 6 months. About 3 months into my experience, I reached Bikemap level 2 and was asked to sign in using my email (up until this point, I was using the app signed out with relatively no issue). I tried to access my saved routes to take screenshots in case of any issues with signing in, however this did not seem to be an option. I then signed in with my email and my Bikemap account was created. However, upon signing in, I discovered that all of my previous saved routes had been deleted, meaning that I will likely have to redo 3 months of progress, as I can’t seem to ...

Very handy app. I really like the route suggestions for a more bike friendly route. Much better than the routes Google Maps give for cyclists... I only wish that the app used Google or Apple maps instead of OpenMaps and the Bikemap app default. The Google Maps on the web version is great, please update the app to include it. Update: just recently with one of the updates, the routing is messed up… It used to be very accurate with finding the best routes, but that is no longer the case… for example, I will choose a “balanced” route which will tell me it will take 45 minutes. So I will switch it to do the “fastest” route, and it then tells me that same destination will be 56 minutes… it will do this with almost every destination I try to route too… it’s becoming pretty useless, since Apple Maps usually finds a better route now. Not sure what changed, since it used to be great and very accurate. But not so much now. Please fix!

I use the internet based of BikeMap to pick routes when I cycle abroad and it’s very good. I was expecting similar things from the app but they seems very disconnected. For instance the app’s point-to-point route builder is great...but you can’t save the routes you make like that, so can’t make them available offline ( a feature designed to save battery life and data usage ?). Whereas on the website you can’t build a route as easily, but you CAN save from there and access them via the app. That means you can make those routes available offline via the app...except it took me 3-5 attempts on each route to get it complete without errors. And then when I came to use an offline route, it didn’t work right...it just routed me back to the start point!! ? So a great idea but too unreliable, basic features not in place, key functionality doesn’t work, and too disconnected from the website.

So excited to see this juicy update. The app designers are obviously very good with beautiful UI (compare with Cyclemeter for example). But despite all their brilliance, I cannot view my power pedals or external heart rate monitor. I use the latter because of the jiggling on my wrist turns out to spoil the readings. I have to unsubscribe because actually Cadence is just as pretty and has greater functionality, although doesn’t have the “discover routes” feature. It’s difficult to beat Strava for this bit though - there are no Bikemap suggestions near me but dozens in Strava. So Cadence + Strava seems to be the dream setup for now. Bikemap has the chance to “take it all” but not until Bluetooth is added. PS if it does have Bluetooth then I take all this back!! But you would have to update your help.
