I don’t get why depop don’t encourage people to message the seller before buying to check if the item is still available, we are human and forget to delete unavailable items sometimes! I had deleted my depop app and I didn’t even receive an email that someone had bought something- I re downloaded today and someone had bought something last week! The item I put up has been up for months and I have chucked it out- if I had got a message or email as deleted my app saying “someone has requested to buy your item is this still available” I would have replied- now I have to go through the whole process of refunding this person and their out of pocket while I find out how to do it! - if I hadn’t of downloaded it I wouldn’t have known and she would have lost her money or reported my account. Very stupid fault! May I just add it has nothing to do with notifications as I had DELETED THE APP I had no recollection of this person buying my item as I did not receive any email telling me that someone...

DO NOT GET THIS APP unless you’d happy with daylight robbery, terrible customer service , useless support staff and random account suspension or in my case DELETED ACCOUNT. like many others the pandemic has had a turbulent effect on my finances, but depop was a giving me some sort of income despite depop ( who take 10% of whatever you make + pay pal fees ) I’ve had the app since 2018 , over the years I managed to get 131 items sold and over 200 5 star reviews so imagine how much money depop was making from me. Today they decided to permenantly delete my account due to “ out of app transactions “ I know the depop rules from being a seller for years and I’d never disobey them. Common sense would tell the depop team that having used the app for many years why would I put my 5 star reviews and feedback at stake for the sake of an out of app transaction it doesn’t even make sense ? Depop take advantage of their sellers , are terrible at handling cases and give insulting automated responses ...

Why is it that at buyer has the ability to not write a review, which is akin to ‘no reference’ therefore appears unhappy, or even a bad one which isn’t true, and the seller has no ability to respond to that review for other potential buyers to see???The word count for your bio is so limited that sellers are forced to use up item spaces to put ones terms and conditions is as it won’t all fit in the bio letter count, and the more items you add to the page means it moves from near the top so doesn’t get read??? Not all buyers have integrity, and I’m sure neither do all sellers. But it’s frustrating when you receive a bad review despite already stating the postage price, and putting no refunds or returns, that sellers are put in a position to refund or risk a bad review, if the seller has found the same item cheaper, only not new, after their purchase of a new item from yourself. You get the option to set your size preferences to this filter but half the time they never stick? I’ve had to put in my sizes basically every other week now because the app won’t remember- even then the clothes that pop up in my “Style Edit” are not even close to my size or measurements? How damaging is it for a person like me to see only clothes that are built for slimmer, petite people being pushed onto my feed? (This problem obviously goes both ways, as a petite person may start to feel insecure about their weight if they are constantly pushed clothes that are for curvier frames instead of their own) Not only that but the when you go onto someone’s account, and you then try to filter it by your sizes (after filling them in again for the 50th time) the button “View *insert number of items that fit you here*” doesn’t work? I recently discovered Depop after using Ebay for years. Overall app is very basic with functions and options with what it allows you to do comparing to eBay - I made a purchase recently and item arrived not as described, I contacted seller but had no reply for good few days and to open a case you have to go trough PayPal which is great but then PayPal has to request it trough seller, I found it a bit to complicated comparing to eBay one being very straight forward ‘open case’ function. Also, why am I not able to add pictures when communicating with seller or buyer! It is crucial that I should be able to enclose pictures of item that arrived not as described or if I sold and posted item but for some reason it was running late I would need to be able to upload proof of postage. Also I find there are few glitches, like it takes couple of clicks for screen to update if I received a message or I recently sold an item, received the payment but it is till showing item available for sale on my...
