Description
Who says learning cursive writing is a thing of the past? Did you know that, unlike typing on a keyboard, cursive writing stimulates the brain’s ability to retain information and develops fine motor skills? TFS – Canada’s International School, in partnership with Tapfun, is excited to welcome you to Écrire en cursive, a free app that allows users to practise their cursive writing skills, all in French! The brainchild of a primary school teacher Céline Lebel at TFS – Canada’s International School, the app was developed to further student engagement and practise by using a technology-based method. Classroom tested and approved, the app is geared to students from Senior Kindergarten through Grade 2. It teaches children how to correctly write letters in cursive using visual modelling, and follows the French “Seyes” lining for height and stroke. Positive feedback is instantaneous, to encourage improvement. Through tracking mastered letters, Écrire en cursive continuously motivates students. New letters are presented in a structured sequence, designed to provide both fun and challenge. A complement to the existing Canadian cursive writing program, this app is now available to students worldwide, for use in class and out! “I like the tactile functionality of the app, which gives students immediate feedback and allows them to master proper letter formation. The students really like the app because it provides them with a sense of responsibility and control over their learning.” – Martine Humbert, Grade 1 teacher at TFS – Canada’s International School “Developing the Écrire en cursive app with TFS – Canada’s International School has been a special opportunity to bring our unique technology to the French curriculum. We view this close collaboration as a model for educational software development and are excited to see the app in use around the world.” – Jordy Koski, Founder & CEO, Tapfun PRIVACY Écrire en cursive takes children’s privacy seriously. To protect user identity, a library of fun and friendly avatars is available for users to select from. This app does not contain in-app purchases.
