Thanks for such a great ap. A must have app for all birders all around the world. The photo recognition is the one i have used and they are spot on most of the occasion even on a noisy or blurry pic. The app brings out the right bird most of the time. Have been using this app for the last 2 years and will be an app that will remain in my phone as long as it lives ? A wholehearted five star from a long term user of the same ??

Birdwatchers know life before Merlin, and life after Merlin. Carrying a field guide on your phone, localised to the region where you’re birding, was unthinkable just a few years ago. Although the photo ID and sound ID need improvement, they’re getting better as more and more data gets added to the Cornell Labs database. The data packs are frequently updated and that’s a great thing.

A big thank you to the good folks at Cornell for hatching the Merlin Bird ID app to life! The app’s easy user interface enables amateur birdwatchers like me to keep coming back to it again and again. It’s concise and compact compendium of knowledge holds my attention. Bird detection tool using AI is a breakthrough of sorts as I haven’t come across any another app that has this feature. Keep it up!

Excellent Bird Identifier app, got better especially after update on Life List wherein you can save your own observation of birds. One recommendation is , is it possible to save our own photos of birds in the life list, used while identification.
