I have taken Metra rarely in my life. Sorry folks, my work has never been within 5 miles of a Metra station and it would be too long and costly to use it for work. However, I have started using Metra to go to events downtown. I found this app on the app store before a recent trip. It is easy to use, intuitive, and has useful features to remind you about your train schedule even when you are not thinking about it. I knocked one star off because I would like to buy tickets through the app. Other than through the conductor, Metra makes it hard to get tickets. The ticket app is horrible and this would be a logical app in which to buy them.

Good really only for finding schedules, but has no realtime data unless a user is on the train you want and has checked in so that the app can update the trains time and location. For example, im waiting for my 7:11 train, the app tells me it has come and gone and is two stops past me. I can see it down the line, 12 minutes late. The app wont know until i board and check in. Also, visually theres too much useless info scrolling across in small text. It takes up space and important data on the train line you are interested in has to be shrunk as a result. The bulk of riders (at least in chicagoland) are ppl going to work. They are older and many need glasses to read. It would be nice if there was an option, separate screen, whatever, that once you check into a particular line, all the extra junk goes away. If im on the milwaukee north line, i dont need to know about construction on a separate line literally hours away on the other side of the city
