Description
For children who are dyslexic, it is very important to teach them all of the sounds and rules in a very structured, cumulative manner (this is known as the Orton-Gillingham approach). One of our phonics rules (in the English language) is when the letter 'c' has the /s/ sound. This only happens when the letter 'c' is followed by an 'e', 'i' or 'y'. When reading a word, such as "accelerate", it is important to know that the first 'c' says /k/, but the second 'c' says /s/. Students should be taught to always take note of any letter that follows a 'c'. This app will give a brief lesson on this rule, with a quiz to follow, and then offer three activities regarding this rule.
