Have just updated my old Redshift App to this one and I am very pleased with it. Has some big improvements and the basic version is well worth the money. Not so sure about the subscription update and I think it should be a bit more flexible. There are only a couple of features that I would like from the subscription version but they are not worth paying the amount of money being asked to get. I feel that it would be better if we could pick and choose what we want. I only have two criticisms of the App. The first is the size of the moon. Unless you zoom right in, it appears as a bright point in the sky. When I look at the moon in real life it always appears with a face with clearly visible markings. Secondly, the 'Todays Sky' is pretty useless as it shows hardly any information. To me, it should show which planets will be visible and when, moon rise and set plus perhaps the best three or four deep sky objects. You can add the planets to your Favourites which then gives you the above...

The only improvement I’m likely to use is the improved time forward/reverse wheel. This is far easier to control than the old one. In the old version I could select to show central & neighbouring constellation lines which I cannot do in this new version. I don’t like the delay taken for the constellation lines to appear after the user has stopped scrolling the screen. This slows down the time you can easily recognise the area of sky you are looking for. My main interest is satellite identification. The satellite data base has not improved on the last version. There are other apps out there which are capable of showing far more satellites, as an example satellite Vanguard 1, which does not show on a Redshift search even when the maximum number of objects is selected. Hoping these issues can be corrected in a future update. Thanks for sorting out the constellations in the update. Looking forward to seeing more satellites too please. Also I preferred the Telrad view finder in the old...
